Day 12

Today we discovered something very interesting about Jake. When we were on a walk we saw a man in a baseball cap, he came over to Jake and Jake started to growl at him. We asked him to take off his hat and Jake stopped growling. We have observed this before so we will see if we come across it again. When we came home I put on a hat and Jake didn't growl. Tonight when my dad came home he was wearing a hat and Jake growled. We now think Jake has a problem with men in hats. I have decided that I am going to start working with him on that.

This afternoon Jake came my choir practice with me.  He was spoiled by all the girls! 

We are just waiting to hear from Lisa, the founder of the rescue because Jake needs to have surgery on his back hind leg.  He has a luxating patella, commonly known as a "floating knee cap".  This is a common problem with dogs and occurs in small dogs more often then larger dogs.  It can also be genetic.  The rescue has been raising money since last Fall for Jakes surgery.  When the dogs come up from the shelters in Los Angeles the vets check them out as best as they can but some things can get missed.
